Introduction
I’ve always had this creative itch — even as a teenager, I was scribbling thoughts in my diary or planner, trying to make sense of feelings I didn’t fully understand yet. Captivation came from that space. I wrote it when I was younger, still figuring out love, energy, and what it means to really connect with somebody beyond the surface. When I was putting together Underneath All This Skin, this poem almost made it in, but for whatever reason, it didn’t. Still, it’s one I’ve always liked. It’s raw. It’s honest. It’s that kind of reflection that makes you wonder — what really keeps someone drawn to you… and what happens when they can’t see the depth in front of them?
